Childrens books, adults should really read too!
’Thank you for sharing your and Sticky’s story and know you are helping many with their own sticky situations.’
Dawn White, Certified Counselor and Play Therapist
Hi Chuck! Just wanted to reach out to you and THANK YOU for your amazing gift. My students loved the story and many of them empathized so much with the situation. We use a lot of books in our classes. Not all of them are hits. This ones a hit!:) We love our books and are so grateful!
Hi Mr. Chuck!
My name is Elsie and I am in Girl Scout troop 2045 in Illinois. We wanted to tell you that you were being a very good Girl Scout when you saved Sticky. You also write very good books and we read them at our meetings. We voted and we would like to tell you, that you are officially a GIRL SCOUT! You do all the things to be a good Girl Scout and your books do too. Congratulations! Love you so much! Troop 2045.♥️
Hi Chuck. I wanted to let you know I use your story book, “A Sticky Situation” frequently in my work as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Play Therapist. I read the story with each child as a way to introduce “sticky things can happen” but we can work our way out of them. Then we make a batch of slime and we talk about the sticky situations in their lives—like Sticky’s glue. Then as we add the ingredients to make the slime more manageable, we talk about ways out of the sticky situations in their lives. The children really seem to get it and it’s fun to share the stories with them. Thank you for sharing your and Sticky’s stories and know you are helping many others with their own sticky situations.
To Mr. Chuck Hawley
My name is Lucy Swayngin. I am a teacher and a counselor to our students at the Kagongo Primary School in Kenya, Africa. I think you must know you are very famous in Kenya. I want to thank you for writing books of compassion and love. For our young men to see such a man as yourself show compassion to Gods creatures is a great gift to us in our teaching. We have two Sticky books used in our classrooms and also for when a child needs to learn compassion. They must read this before returning to the group. Thank you sir and please tell me of future books.
Dear Mr. Hawley,
My name is Victor Summeer Gulsan. We have received your lovely book via a friend from the United States. Thank you for such kindness. The children are so happy to hear such a wonderful story and to know they are not alone. Our children are street children with no family. The world Is often cruel for them. Your story has given hope to these children and is also teaching English which is good for schooling and lessons. Thank you my brother. It is your love. My friend. Victor.
Hello Chuck!!!! I just wanted to tell you a quick story of the postive impact you have had on a hurting little girl. I’ve truly enjoyed following everything going on with you and your family and Sticky since the first day I heard the story. I have 2 nieces 11 and 7 and they have been going through a very rough time due to their parents divorce along with some other horrible things that have happened to them. I told the girls the story of you and Sticky and showed them so many pictures of everything you had done and are doing. They were ABSOLUTELY captivated and always ask for more updates and to see Stickys facebook page🥰. I wanted to tell you that learning what happened to Sticky and how a horrific situation for him turned into something amazing has really had a positive impact on them. After reading all three books, my 11 year old niece told me "if Sticky can survive what happened to him, I can too." Chuck you have no idea the impact this story and these books have had on this little girl. So from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!!!! I'm crying as I write this because I'm so grateful to have an age appropriate way to help my nieces♡♡ I will be ordering every book you ever write, for them no matter how old they get! I may even order them for a grown friend of mine now that I think about it. God Bless you Man!!!!!💜💜💜
